In a beautiful summer day, people enjoy the sea of the Dutluk Beach in Vakfıkebir town; children playing ball, others dancing, sunbathing, swimming and the elders sitting in the tea garden. A little way off this scene, tens of trucks jangly tipping rocks into the shore, the machines filling the sea with rocks and the construction work of the jetties take the stage. While the natural ports and the fishermen’s shelters are being destroyed because of the construction of the new highway, the fishermen are looking for a new place for themselves, tragicomically, transporting their boats through the land route. “The Shore” is the story of the Black Sea people being ruptured from their sea on the pretext that construction of a highway.
