This is a documentary about the resistance of Emine Arslan who was laid off from her job at the Desa company’s Sefaköy factory as a result of her union activities, and the one year resistance of the female workers who were laid off from the Düzce factory for the same reason. The documentary reveals the working conditions of women, the experience of becoming organized, the benefits of resistance, their relationship with the union, their hopes and expectations, and the establishment of İstanbul Women’s Platform, which was in solidarity with them throughout the resistance strike.

Güliz Sağlam
Güliz Sağlam studied at the University of Marmara, Department of Social Sciences and Administration. She has been working as assistant director for several feature films and as director for documentaries. She was involved in Filmmor Women’s Cooperative for a while. For the last four-five years she makes documentaries focusing on issues of migration, violence against women and women’s labour.

Feryal Saygılıgil
Feryal Saygılıgil was born in İstanbul. She received her B.S. in the department of Physics and her M.A. in the department of History of Medicine and Deontology and Women Studies. Saygılıgil, who is a doctoral candidate in sociology at Mimar Sinan University, also participated in the Filmmor Women’s Cooperative between the years 2003-2006.
